3rd Marking period

#21.A
To create these 2D shapes I first opened up Sketch Up 8. I then used the pen line tool to create the triangle. Next, I used the rectangle tool to create the rectangle. Finally, I used the circle tool to create the circle shape.
#21.B
To create these 3D shapes I opened up Sketch Up 8. I then used the push and pull tool to push the shapes outward from the previous image. By doing so I created a 3D effect. The y axis was blue, the x axis was red and the z axis was green. Now that I have learned how to do a 3D effect I can change the standard views. There are 7 views, front ,back ,top ,bottom ,left ,right , and Iso.
#21.C
To create these 3D letters I opened up Sketch Up 8. I then used the pen line tool to write my name in bubble letters. After I finished writing the letters I used the push and pull tool to drag the letters outward to create a 3D effect.

#23 Backside/Front side - To begin this gingerbread house, you create a plain 3-D rectangle. Then you add a slant to the top of the rectangle and use the push tool to create a roof-like structure. Then using the different pen tools, you add Christmas related 2-D shapes onto the gingerbread. Then using the paint bucket tool to color - coordinate the gingerbread house to Christmas colors. Finished.
*********************************************************************************************
#24 Ginger bread house on a setting - To begin you need to have created a gingerbread house using Google Sketch up. Then go on any website where you can find a setting to place your ginger bread house on, in my case I chose a north pole snowing setting. Then I opened both files in Adobe Photoshop and merged them, with the ginger bread house inside the north pole background. I had two layers of the same gingerbread house in a similar area but one more front than another and edited the blending options to create a 3D look. Finished.

*********************************************************************************************
#25 Glowing button - To begin this glowing button effect, you use the ellipse tool to create two circles, one smaller than the other and put the smaller one on the larger circle (in center). Then you go on a site with photos and find a power button that would go on the inner smaller circle. Then edit the blending options for the button through a site that provides directions you can follow to create the glowing effect. In my case I used http://www.photoshop-plus.co.uk/learn-how-to-create-a-simple-glowing-animation/. Finished.

*********************************************************************************************
#26 Showcase - To begin this showcase, you create different layers for each section of gray colors. This way the depth of the showcase base (room) is clear to the view. Then you use the ellipse tool to create lights and change the blending options to create a realistic look. To create the light reflection you use the Elliptical Marquee Tool and change the Blur, under Gaussian Blur. Then using the Polygonal Lasso Tool to create the light reflection that's connected to the light. Make sure there is three of each light reflection and light with a separate layer for each. Then for choosing a object or picture, you pick three things in facing different views or having different looks. Finished.
*********************************************************************************************

#27 Brochure - To create this brochure you need a theme to explain about. In this case, I wrote about my school schedule. I used a brochure outline in Microsoft publisher and started with my first period schedule. Then wrote about myself as a student in school and how I travel to school, also adding a photo of my school and school address so people can be aware of the school I'm referring to. After I made small descriptions, I continued writing my schedule. For each subject, I made sure to add a photo to my description, such as a logo or textbook photo to make my brochure appear more attractive. Within the description, I wrote about what is learned in the class, and how we test our ability to remember what we learn.

SEMESTER REFLECTION:
This semester I learned how to use many different soft wares. Including Adobe photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Google Sketchup, Microsoft Publisher, and how to create a blog. In each of these soft wares, I learned different tactics to create something different out of an original piece. Then I would post it on my blog and explain how others can recreate what I do, by giving brief descriptions about the software. In this semester, I also tested my ability to edit pieces on my own by doing tests. In Adobe Photoshop, you can edit and or cut out parts of a picture or an upload, and replace it with different colors or uploads by using different tools, such as the gradient tool or paint bucket tool, also changing the appearance of a picture by changing the blending options. In Adobe Illustrator, it was very similar to Adobe Photoshop, so methods were also similar. In Google Sketchup, you can create different shapes and change them to any size and however many dimensions. Lastly, in Microsoft Publisher, it was very similar to Microsoft word, and powerpoint, so I was able to understand it.

2nd marking period by Ivy

#11 Club Flier
This flier is advertising Math club and promoting MCSM students to join math club. To create this flier, I used Adobe Photoshop. First I opened a Adobe Photoshop document and began with a blank white page. Then I selected the gradient tool < diamond gradient with a colorful gradient to create the background. Next I chose pictures relating to math and used a thick text in a light green shade and wrote "Math Club" over the picture. For information on the club [who, what, when, where, why] I decided to use the technique of creating a highlight around my wording by using different layers. To create a more persuading and convincing flier, I added two more photos about math. For one photo, no edit was applied but for the heart relating to math photo I used the magic wand and selected white areas and deleted them so the colorful gradient background could be more visible.

                                                             #12 Dress edit
This photo represents an edit made by Adobe Photoshop. To create this photo you begin by selecting a photo of a dress or a suit (optional). Then you chose a wallpaper or texture you want to apply onto your dress or suit. *Note: Your dress or suit should be a solid color so it is easier to see your new texture. Then you select the area you want edited by using the magnetic lasso tool and place the texture on top. By using color dodge or in my case I used linear light to make my texture more visible. To complete this effect you can change the opacity (optional).

#13 Change one thing poster
This poster is a advertisement to encourage healthier diets. The purpose of this poster is to advertise salads over m&m's. To create this I began by finding two pictures, one of a salad and another of a m&m bowl. I edited the m&m bowl over a light blue background to catch attention with bright colors. Then I used the magnetic lasso to outline the shape I wanted my salad to be. Then I copied and pasted it with shortcuts; Ctrl C and Ctrl V. I then created a intriguing status and added a pacman symbol to the persuade people to eat salads. And explained why eating salads benefits you. Finally I  added a food bank logo and wrote the food bank status.

#14 Jack O' Lantern
This poster is of a Jack O' Lantern I created by using Photoshop. To begin I found a photo of a Pumpkin I favored, saved it and began editing it. First I opened the pumpkin file and used the magic wand to delete the background. Then I copied and pasted the pumpkin onto a black background on a new file. After, I used the free form pen tool to create a facial expression or characteristics for my pumpkin. I edited the blending options to create a glow coming from the pumpkins features. Then to add a orange shadow to the pumpkin I used the brush tool and chose a soft round texture with a 10% opacity to create the shadow. Finally I wrote the caption "Think Halloween Ivy 2014".

                                                    #15 Brick Flag (Flag Displacement)
This photo is a flag overlapping a brick wall I created by using Photoshop. To begin I found a photo of a flag and a brick wall I wanted to edit together. I opened both files of the photos and applied both on each other by using shortcuts Ctrl A, Ctrl C, and Ctrl V. The flag layer should be on the brick layer and the flag layer should be under hard light. After, you replicate another brick layer, filter it Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur and result with a black and white brick wall and make sure this layer is also under hard light with a 80% opacity. Finally you will get a brick-flag result.

#17 Quick Mask
This photo is of a edited lip color.
To begin I found a photo of a person that I can potentially edit. In my case I found a photo of [Taecyeon]. I saved and opened the file in Photoshop. Then I zoomed into the mouth area and decided to edit the lip color (teeth color is also optional). By selecting quick mask and using the brush tool I was able to select the lip area. Then I created another layer for the lip area and used the gradient tool to add a rainbow color.
*********************************************************************************************
#18 soft focus effect
This photo is of a edited soft glow effect. First I found a photo that I could edit, in my case [Johnny Depp]. I opened the photo in Photoshop and duplicated the background layer and converted to Smart Filters. Then I added a Gaussian Blur with 5 pixels (Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur). Then I added a layer mask and changed the layer to screen. Finally I edited the opacity to show a noticeable glow.

#20 Phone test
To create this phone, I used Adobe Illustrator.
I began with rounded rectangles (edited with different colors). Then added different symbols and details to bring my phone to life, such as numbers and letters, a microphone, signal and battery symbols, and arrows to differentiate the buttons. I added rectangles with different colors to add definition and lighting. I also chose a base color that would make my phone pop out more and added a slight blue reflection on the speaker to show the color more.
