#11 Club Flier
This flier is advertising Math club and promoting MCSM students to join math club. To create this flier, I used Adobe Photoshop. First I opened a Adobe Photoshop document and began with a blank white page. Then I selected the gradient tool < diamond gradient with a colorful gradient to create the background. Next I chose pictures relating to math and used a thick text in a light green shade and wrote "Math Club" over the picture. For information on the club [who, what, when, where, why] I decided to use the technique of creating a highlight around my wording by using different layers. To create a more persuading and convincing flier, I added two more photos about math. For one photo, no edit was applied but for the heart relating to math photo I used the magic wand and selected white areas and deleted them so the colorful gradient background could be more visible.

                                                             #12 Dress edit
This photo represents an edit made by Adobe Photoshop. To create this photo you begin by selecting a photo of a dress or a suit (optional). Then you chose a wallpaper or texture you want to apply onto your dress or suit. *Note: Your dress or suit should be a solid color so it is easier to see your new texture. Then you select the area you want edited by using the magnetic lasso tool and place the texture on top. By using color dodge or in my case I used linear light to make my texture more visible. To complete this effect you can change the opacity (optional).

#13 Change one thing poster
This poster is a advertisement to encourage healthier diets. The purpose of this poster is to advertise salads over m&m's. To create this I began by finding two pictures, one of a salad and another of a m&m bowl. I edited the m&m bowl over a light blue background to catch attention with bright colors. Then I used the magnetic lasso to outline the shape I wanted my salad to be. Then I copied and pasted it with shortcuts; Ctrl C and Ctrl V. I then created a intriguing status and added a pacman symbol to the persuade people to eat salads. And explained why eating salads benefits you. Finally I  added a food bank logo and wrote the food bank status.

#14 Jack O' Lantern
This poster is of a Jack O' Lantern I created by using Photoshop. To begin I found a photo of a Pumpkin I favored, saved it and began editing it. First I opened the pumpkin file and used the magic wand to delete the background. Then I copied and pasted the pumpkin onto a black background on a new file. After, I used the free form pen tool to create a facial expression or characteristics for my pumpkin. I edited the blending options to create a glow coming from the pumpkins features. Then to add a orange shadow to the pumpkin I used the brush tool and chose a soft round texture with a 10% opacity to create the shadow. Finally I wrote the caption "Think Halloween Ivy 2014".

                                                    #15 Brick Flag (Flag Displacement)
This photo is a flag overlapping a brick wall I created by using Photoshop. To begin I found a photo of a flag and a brick wall I wanted to edit together. I opened both files of the photos and applied both on each other by using shortcuts Ctrl A, Ctrl C, and Ctrl V. The flag layer should be on the brick layer and the flag layer should be under hard light. After, you replicate another brick layer, filter it Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur and result with a black and white brick wall and make sure this layer is also under hard light with a 80% opacity. Finally you will get a brick-flag result.

                                                         #15b Face Displacement
This photo is a flag overlapping a face I created by using Photoshop. To begin I found a photo of a flag and a face I wanted to edit.I opened both of the files and applied both files on each other into one file by using shortcuts Ctrl A (select all), Ctrl C(copy), then Ctrl V(paste). The flag layer should be on the face layer and the flag layer should be under hard light. After, you replicate the face layer, filter it Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur and result with a black and white brick wall and make sure this layer is also under hard light with a 80% opacity. Finally you will get a face-flag result.

#16 Motion blur
This photo is of a moving bullet with a motion blur edit. First I found a photo of a moving object (ex: cars, trains, etc.). Then I opened it in Photoshop as a smart object to begin editing. I applied a motion blur on my photo, Filter-Blur-Motion Blur, in my case I entered 25 px. Then I selected the brush tool--soft edge brush (with a size that fit my photo) and began un-blurring areas to create a motion blur look.

#17 Quick Mask
This photo is of a edited lip color.
To begin I found a photo of a person that I can potentially edit. In my case I found a photo of [Taecyeon]. I saved and opened the file in Photoshop. Then I zoomed into the mouth area and decided to edit the lip color (teeth color is also optional). By selecting quick mask and using the brush tool I was able to select the lip area. Then I created another layer for the lip area and used the gradient tool to add a rainbow color.

#18 soft focus effect
This photo is of a edited soft glow effect. First I found a photo that I could edit, in my case [Johnny Depp]. I opened the photo in Photoshop and duplicated the background layer and converted to Smart Filters. Then I added a Gaussian Blur with 5 pixels (Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur). Then I added a layer mask and changed the layer to screen. Finally I edited the opacity to show a noticeable glow.

Photoshop unit takeaways
  • Filters (3) - By using filters, I learned to manipulate digital art to create my own art piece.
  • Layers (4) - By creating different layers, I learned to separate the different parts of my work and put each part into a layer. For example the background could be a layer and the text could be a different layer.
  • Opacity (5a) - By adjusting opacity, I learned to change the physical appearance of a image.
  • Coloring [bucket tool] (5b) -   By using the bucket tool, I learned to fill in colorless areas of drawings or cartoons with color by using the magic wand to select a certain area and adding color to it.
  • Lasso + Coloring + Opacity (5c) - By using the lasso tool, I learned to select a certain area, then coloring it in to a different color (works best with black and white), and adjusting the opacity to the original features of the photo is still shown.
  • Gradient tool (6a) - By using the gradient tool, I learned to create different shapes and create art pieces.
  • Brush stamps + gradient tool (6b) - By using brush stamps from the brush tool, I connected the gradient tool and brush stamps to create my own art piece.
  • Filters + Motion Blur + Text (6c) - By using filters, I learned to create black and white streaks and add motion blur to make it appear blurry, and adding text by using the text tool.
  • Glass effect (7) - By using glass effect, I learned to change the blending options to make my text look glass effected.
  • Photo filled effect (8) - By using photo filled effect, I learned to put a photo within text by editing the blending options.
  • Plastic Glass effect + gradient overlay (9) - By using plastic glass effect, I learned to change the blending options and show a plastic glass effect on my last name, for the background I created a black and white gradient overlay.
  • Crazy text effect (10) - By creating a crazy text effect, I learned to distort text and create a crazy text effect by editing the blending options.
  • Club Flier (11) - By creating a club flier, I learned to create colorful backgrounds by using gradient overlay and adding different texts to advertise a club.
  • Dress edit (12) - By creating a dress edit, I learned to change the texture of a plain dress and adding a different wallpaper onto it.

  • Jack O' Lantern (14) - By creating a Jack O' Lantern, I learned to add shapes onto a object and add glow to it to appear more realistic.
  • Brick Flag Displacement (15) - By creating a brick flag displacement, I learned to add a flag onto a brick wall and changed the opacity.
  • Motion Blur (16) - By using motion blur, I learned to make a object in motion look more realistic by adding a motion blur to it.
  • Quick Mask (17) - By using the quick mask technique, I learned to change a part of a persons face, such as the lips or teeth.
  • Soft focus effect (18) - By using the soft focus effect, I learned to add a glow to a persons face to enlighten the appearance.

#19 Flash Drive
To create this flash drive, I used Adobe Illustrator. I used the Rectangle Tool to create different sized rectangles and editing them to a certain color. Then piling the rectangles and combining them to create the look of a flash drive. To create the bottom rounded part I used a round shape and combined it with the larger rectangle base.

#20 Phone test
To create this phone, I used Adobe Illustrator.
I began with rounded rectangles (edited with different colors). Then added different symbols and details to bring my phone to life, such as numbers and letters, a microphone, signal and battery symbols, and arrows to differentiate the buttons. I added rectangles with different colors to add definition and lighting. I also chose a base color that would make my phone pop out more and added a slight blue reflection on the speaker to show the color more.
